With the recent Spanish Super Cup victory, the Brazilian player matched Cristiano Ronaldo’s number of El Clasico wins in a much shorter timeframe.

Cristiano Ronaldo built a legendary legacy at Real Madrid as one of football’s greatest goal scorers, netting 450 goals in 438 matches and earning the nickname Mr. Champions for his outstanding performances in the Champions League. However, his team achievements in El Clasico did not fully reflect his individual dominance.

Following a 3-2 victory over Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup final, Raphinha achieved his eighth El Clasico win, matching the total Ronaldo earned during his time at Real Madrid. The difference lies in efficiency, as Raphinha reached this milestone in just 12 encounters, while Ronaldo needed 30 matches against Barcelona to do the same.

When Barcelona signed Raphinha from Leeds United for 58 million Euros before the 2022-23 season, he was not yet considered a top global star. His first El Clasico ended in a 1-3 defeat in October 2022, but since then, his record against Real Madrid has transformed completely.

To date, Raphinha has played 12 El Clasico matches for Barcelona, including six in La Liga, three in the Copa del Rey, and three Spanish Super Cup finals. He holds a record of eight wins, four losses, seven goals, and three assists, with five goals and one assist coming in his last four encounters alone.

Cristiano Ronaldo has faced Barcelona many times throughout his career, from his stints at Manchester United, Real Madrid, to Juventus. Despite his success on many fronts, Barcelona has remained one of the toughest opponents for the Portuguese superstar.
