Raphinha shines brightly in El Clasico as Barca defends the Super Cup title

Raphinha's two goals combined with emotional statements led Barcelona to a narrow victory over Real Madrid in El Clásico, clinching the 16th Spanish Super Cup trophy.

Raphinha was the standout figure in the Spanish Super Cup final held in Jeddah. In a dramatic and emotional contest, the Brazilian star shone brilliantly, playing a key role in Barcelona’s 3-2 win over Real Madrid to claim their 16th title and successfully defend the trophy.

Playing as a right winger, Raphinha reaffirmed his indispensable role within coach Hansi Flick's system. He scored a brace, just like in the semifinals, earning the Man of the Match award from the organizers.

Raphinha’s opening goal showcased his individual skill. The 1996-born star skillfully cut inside before unleashing a precise left-footed curling shot that left Thibaut Courtois helpless. In the 73rd minute, during a tense phase, Raphinha calmly finished to seal the 3-2 victory for the Catalan side.

After the match, Raphinha openly expressed his emotions about the turbulent journey for himself and his teammates:

“We fought until the very last second. There was a lot of pressure and tension, which is why I felt a bit emotional after the game. But this is exactly what Barcelona needs. I always work very hard and try to give my all, and sometimes luck is on my side,” Raphinha shared.

The Brazilian star also gave special mention to Ronald Araújo, the defender who lifted Barça’s first trophy of the season: “Araújo? I went through very tough times during my first two seasons here.
