The Anti-Corruption Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has met with the U19 teams involved in unprofessional conduct during matches.
On the morning of January 5, 2026, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the Anti-Corruption Committee held a meeting with the team leaders and head coaches of the U19 teams to verify and clarify the unprofessional behaviors observed during the qualifying rounds of the 2025/26 National U19 Football Championship.
During the meeting, the Anti-Corruption Committee confirmed that disciplinary actions against players from the four mentioned teams have been issued by the VFF Disciplinary Board in accordance with regulations, ensuring strictness and timeliness. These unprofessional actions have seriously affected the competitive quality of the 2025/26 National U19 Football Championship, negatively impacting the image of Vietnamese youth football as well as the reputation of the participating clubs.
The Committee urged the clubs to seriously acknowledge the existing shortcomings and violations in player management and organization; to clarify the causes and motivations behind the unprofessional conduct, and to actively cooperate with authorities in monitoring, verifying, and handling these issues according to regulations.
At the meeting, the Anti-Corruption Committee also requested the Organizing Committee to strengthen control and verify the eligibility of participating teams. Furthermore, the Committee will continue close cooperation with the Organizing Committee, the VFF Disciplinary Board, Department 4 – Criminal Police Department, and other relevant agencies to review, analyze, and evaluate matches showing suspicious signs. If violations are detected, strict sanctions will be applied in accordance with VFF disciplinary regulations and current laws.
For teams showing signs of repeated unprofessional behavior, the Anti-Corruption Committee suggested considering harsher penalties, including expulsion from the current tournament and bans from future seasons.
