Khoa Ngô did not enter the field, and Ho Chi Minh City Police Football Club won the friendly match 3-0 with ease.
On the afternoon of January 5th, at Ba Ria stadium, a friendly match took place between Ho Chi Minh City Police Football Club and Ho Chi Minh City FC. With a stronger lineup, coach Lê Huỳnh Đức’s team quickly controlled the game and dominated, putting intense pressure on goalkeeper Thanh Thắng’s goal. Before the first half ended, Ho Chi Minh City Police FC led 1-0, with midfielder Đức Phú scoring a standout goal.
The most anticipated player for Ho Chi Minh City Police FC, midfielder Khoa Ngô, did not participate in this match. The overseas Vietnamese player born in 2006 needs more time to adapt to the climate conditions in Ho Chi Minh City.
Coach Lê Huỳnh Đức almost completely changed the lineup in the second half to give all players a chance to play, while also experimenting with different positions on the field.
Ho Chi Minh City FC, led by coach Nguyễn Minh Phương, showed good preparation in terms of personnel and tactics. In more than 20 minutes of the second half, the match was balanced. However, Mạnh Cường scored a difficult shot that beat Thanh Thắng, increasing the score to 2-0.
The match ended with a 3-0 score after a beautiful attacking move by Ho Chi Minh City Police FC, where midfielder Văn Lắm made an accurate header. Soon, Ho Chi Minh City Police FC will have training camps and friendly matches with teams from the northern region.
Previously, on January 4th, 2026, midfielder Ngô Đăng Khoa officially signed a contract with Ho Chi Minh City Police Football Club right at the club’s headquarters. Khoa Ngo, whose Vietnamese name is Ngô Đăng Khoa, was born in 2006, holds Australian nationality, and both his parents are Vietnamese.
Before joining Ho Chi Minh City Police Football Club, Khoa Ngo played for Perth Glory in the Australian A-League and was the first Vietnamese-origin player to compete in Australia’s top professional football league. In the 2025/2026 season, Khoa Ngo appeared 6 times for Perth Glory in the A-League and scored his first goal in Australia’s highest football competition.
