What did the former Vietnam national coach say upon being appointed by Thailand?

The Football Association of Thailand has officially appointed Raksaphon Sainetngam as the head coach of their national futsal team.

The Football Association of Thailand held a press conference to officially introduce Mr. Raksaphon Sainetngam as the head coach of the Thailand men's national futsal team at the meeting room on the 2nd floor of the Football Association of Thailand building on January 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM.

"This is my second time serving as the head coach of Thailand's national futsal team, following my first tenure leading the team at the 2021 Futsal World Cup in Lithuania. Over the years, I have gained experience and enhanced my knowledge by coaching several foreign teams."

"Whether it was coaching the Vietnam women's futsal team, Black Steel in the Indonesian league, or the Malaysian national team, I am confident in my ability to lead Thailand's national futsal team forward," Coach Raksaphon Sainetngam stated.

Coach Raksaphon Sainetngam has extensive experience coaching various teams, including Rattanabundit University, GHB ARBAC, Chonburi Bluewave, as well as Thailand's men's and women's national futsal teams, Vietnam's women's futsal team, Black Steel club in the Indonesian league, and Malaysia's men's national futsal team.

Previously, he guided Thailand's national futsal team to the round of 16 at the 2021 Futsal World Cup in Lithuania, won 6 Thai Futsal League titles, 1 Asian Club Championship (Chonburi Bluewave 2017), 2 ASEAN Club Championships (Chonburi Bluewave 2019, Blacksteel 2023), and the 2020/21 Indonesian League championship.

"My first tournament will be the Asian Championship at the end of January, which is a very challenging task. My goal is to lead Thailand's national futsal team to perform at their best and, if possible, reach the final again, as we did two years ago."

"Under my leadership, people will notice changes in the Thailand national futsal team. Firstly, the defense must become more aggressive and stronger. Offensively, we will increase our speed because international futsal matches are very fast-paced. Additionally, I will introduce new and modern tactics.
