Huỳnh Như's team brings a two-in-one Vietnamese player

The Ho Chi Minh City women's club officially announces the signing of Trần Thị Thu Xuân, a player skilled in both 11-a-side football and futsal.

The Ho Chi Minh City women's football club has just officially revealed a high-quality signing named Trần Thị Thu Xuân. This is considered a strategic addition to the midfield of the team named after Uncle Ho, as Thu Xuân possesses an impressive collection of titles and extensive experience competing intensively in both formats: 11-a-side football and futsal.

Thu Xuân is no stranger to domestic football fans. She was one of the key players in the Vietnam Women's National Team that won the Gold Medal at SEA Games 31. Her persistent playing style, sharp tactical awareness, and excellent match control have established her as a top midfielder.

Notably, the new recruit of Ho Chi Minh City women’s club is nicknamed the "versatile player" for shining brightly in the Vietnam Women's Futsal Team. In 2024, she and her teammates secured two major titles:

the Southeast Asian Women's Futsal Championship and the International Friendly Futsal Tournament in Thailand. Particularly, Thu Xuân played a crucial role in helping Vietnam qualify for the 2025 AFC Women's Futsal Championship and, notably, winning the futsal gold medal at SEA Games 33 for the first time. Together with Thùy Trang, she is one of the rare players to win SEA Games gold in both 11-a-side football and futsal.

Thu Xuân's presence at Thống Nhất Stadium promises to bring fresh energy to the team’s playing style. With the mindset of a champion and a fearless fighting spirit, she is expected to become a key "pivot," helping the Ho Chi Minh City women's club maintain dominance in domestic competitions and reach new heights in continental tournaments.

It is hoped that with this new club, Thu Xuân will continue to achieve more glory and help the team conquer historic milestones in the 2026 season, especially the knockout stages of the AFC Women's Champions League. The Ho Chi Minh City women's squad currently includes many players capable of performing well in both 7-a-side and 11-a-side formats, such as Thùy Trang and K' Thủa before Thu Xuân.
