After four days of concentrated sessions, on the afternoon of January 5th, the referee training program for the 2026 National Women's and Youth Football tournaments officially ended at the VFF office.
Present at the closing ceremony were Mr. Nguyễn Quốc Hội – Standing Member of the VFF Executive Committee; Mr. Nguyễn Văn Phú – General Secretary of VFF; and Mr. Đặng Thanh Hạ – Head of the VFF Referee Department.
The training class successfully fulfilled its mission of reviewing the officiating work from the 2025 season, updating new points in the competition rules, and enhancing the professional skills and physical fitness of the referees ahead of the 2026 season.
Representing the course instructors, Mr. Nguyễn Trung Kiên reported that 100% of referees achieved good or excellent results in the theoretical exam; 65 out of 66 passed the fitness test, with the remaining participant unable to complete the test due to incomplete recovery from injury. This outcome reflects the referees’ serious preparation and active training commitment.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Nguyễn Quốc Hội – Standing Member of the VFF Executive Committee extended New Year greetings for 2026 to the referees, instructors, and all involved in the training course. He emphasized that the course not only improved professional quality but also demonstrated the referees’ discipline, willingness to learn, and responsibility toward the national women's and youth football competitions.
Mr. Nguyễn Quốc Hội acknowledged and highly praised the dedication of the instructors and their valuable professional contributions, which played a key role in the program’s success. He noted that women’s and youth football serve as foundational pillars, significantly contributing to the sustainable development and future achievements of Vietnamese football; in which refereeing is a crucial factor ensuring professionalism, fairness, and a positive image for the tournaments.
Mr. Nguyễn Quốc Hội stated that VFF leadership expects the referees to continue proactively learning, improving their professional skills, confidence, and match management abilities. He also affirmed that VFF will keep supporting, investing in, and providing the best conditions to enhance refereeing quality to meet the increasing demands of the national women's and youth football competitions in 2026 and beyond.
Following the training course, 10 referees and 10 assistant referees will officiate at the U19 National Women's Championship – ACECook Cup 2026. The remaining referees and assistants will continue their duties in other tournaments throughout 2026.
