Two Brazilian strikers have recently come to Vietnam for trials, with the opportunity to secure contracts and play in the second half of the V.League season.
Hong Linh Ha Tinh is entering a crucial period of squad adjustments ahead of the second phase of the 2025–2026 V.League. After 11 rounds, the mountain team ranks 6th with 15 points but has scored only 9 goals, placing them among the teams with the least effective offense. This situation forces the coaching staff to urgently seek reinforcements for the attacking line.
In this plan, trialing foreign attacking players is considered a top priority. Coach Nguyen Cong Manh and his staff aim to add players with strong physical fitness, speed, and the ability to quickly adapt to intense match conditions. The two Brazilian players who recently arrived at the Ha Tinh base are expected to bring fresh energy to the team's attack, which has lacked breakthroughs.
Specifically, Hong Linh Ha Tinh is assessing the abilities of Kaique Santos and Gabriel Cunha Geraldo. Both are very young, possess relatively ideal physiques, and were trained in Brazil's technically skilled football environment. Trialing these two strikers simultaneously shows the Central Vietnam club wants a direct comparison before making a final decision.
Kaique Santos, born in 2004, stands 1.80m tall and excels as a winger. During training sessions, he impresses with his wide movement, persistent pressing, and positive training attitude. Meanwhile, Gabriel Cunha Geraldo, also born in 2004, is 1.80m tall, weighs 75kg, can play as a center forward or winger, and previously scored 3 goals in 14 matches for Coimbra-MG club in Brazil.
Besides evaluating the two Brazilian foreigners, Ha Tinh continues to place trust in another longer-term option: the Vietnamese-European striker Phi Long Karim Tran. This forward, born in France, recently left a lower-division Belgian league and is currently on trial, aiming to become a “domestic” player once all necessary legal procedures are completed.
The combination of young, physically strong foreign players and a Europe-trained Vietnamese expatriate reflects Hong Linh Ha Tinh’s clear transfer strategy. If these new faces perform well, the mountain team could significantly improve its scoring efficiency, thereby gaining an advantage in the race to break through in the second phase of the season.
