The recent two rounds of the Premier League have quickly removed the uncertainty from the title race. Why so? Arsenal is the only team among the big six to have won all 6 points in these rounds, whereas Manchester City and the other five big six teams all drew their matches consecutively. This means Manchester City and the others dropped 4 points in the last two rounds, allowing Arsenal to extend their lead over second-placed Manchester City from 2 points two rounds ago to 6 points now — effectively a two-match gap, making Guardiola’s Manchester City hard to catch.
Looking at the last two rounds of Premier League matches, Arsenal leads the table with 6 points. Apart from the Gunners this season, no other big six team has been able to perform well, especially with Manchester City dropping points consecutively. Perhaps the current Blues are no longer the championship side that could make a dramatic comeback after Christmas. Maybe this is the season Arsenal finally wins the Premier League.
Could the wait of Arsenal fans finally bloom this spring?
