Making a friendly move towards the Lakers? Paul shares a video of hitting 20 consecutive three-pointers, using training numbers to remind Redick.

On January 18th Beijing time, Paul posted on IG a video of himself sinking 20 consecutive three-pointers. Importantly, he included the text: “342… @Redick.” Rumors had it that Redick maintained six days of routine shooting practice weekly and would do 342 extra shots on weekends. Since Paul was once Redick’s teammate, he clearly knows what this figure means.

However, Redick’s current main role is the Lakers’ head coach. As Paul awaits an official split with the Clippers, tagging his former teammate with his training progress can also be seen as a friendly gesture towards the Lakers.

Not long ago, Paul appeared on comedian Hart’s podcast and talked about his current situation. Paul said, “I train every day. I love basketball too much to just end it abruptly. Of course, I enjoy this downtime to spend with my son. But right now, I don’t know—I’m not sure which team I want to finish my career with.”

Although Paul hasn’t revealed his intentions, earlier reports suggested he prefers to play close to home (Los Angeles). This was a key reason why he initially chose to return to the Clippers. Now, the Lakers, the closest local team to the Clippers, seem like a very reasonable option. Moreover, Paul once came extremely close to joining the Lakers to team up with Kobe, but the league blocked the move. If he now gets a chance to make up for that missed opportunity and join forces with his good friend LeBron to finish this season before retiring, it would be a beautiful ending.

But will this scenario eventually come true? Let’s wait and see.

So far this season, Paul has only played 16 games for the Clippers, averaging 2.9 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game. Which team do you think Paul will finish his final season with? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
